2022 felt like the year of Nigerian celebrities, as many of them bought new cars. For a majority of them, they bought more than one.
Here is a list of the top Nigerian celebrities who either bought their first cars in 2022 or topped it up this year.
- Wizkid
Just in 2022, Wizkid bought three luxury cars worth over 1 Billion Naira. He purchased a 2022 Rolls Royce Cullinan, a 2022 Lamborghini Aventador, and a luxury Mercedes-Maybach V-Class. All these three cars he bought through MOA Global Services agency as they were the ones that revealed it on their Instagram page.
- Davido
In 2022, Davido splashed millions of Naira on a 2022 Mercedes Benz Maybach SUV a few days after his 02 Arena show. He also reportedly bought a Mercedes-Benz G63 for his wife, Chioma.
- Burna Boy
The Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artist Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu bought three luxury cars this year. They are a Lamborghini and a Maybach. He also got a custom-made Bugatti.
- Obi Cubana
Obi Cubana silently bought 3 vehicles this year. They are the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 70th Anniversary, the 2022 Lexus LX 750 and a 2022 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 SUV. All three cars are worth over 500 million.
- Dj Cuppy
DJ Cuppy is another Nigerian celebrity that bought a car this year. She silently purchased a Land Rover Defender 90 SUV. Months later, she shared the information on her Instagram page, informing her fans and followers.
- Liquorose
Early in 2022, the Nigerian reality TV star, Liquorose bought a brand new Lexus car. It was her way of showing appreciation after coming out of the Big Brother house in 2021.
- Samspeedy
Early in January, the YouTube comedian, Samspeedy, also purchased a brand new Mercedes Benz SUV worth over 30 million Naira. According to Sirbalo, Samspeedy bought the car in December 2021 and refused to announce it until 2022.
- Yomi Casual
The celebrity fashion designer is another person that purchased a brand-new car in 2022. For Yomi, it was a brand new Toyota SUV which he bought and announced in January 2022.
- Laide Bakare
The Nollywood actress broke records this year when she bought two cars at once and launched her new house simultaneously. The two newly acquired cars were a brand-new Toyota SUV and a Lexus SUV. Subsequently, she bought a third car in June, which was a Mercedes Benz.
- Cubana Chief Priest
The celebrity barman Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, popular as Cubana Chiefpriest, bought a 110 million 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300 this December.
- Timaya
The dancehall music artist announced the purchase of his new car on his official Instagram page on Thursday, June 7th, 2022. The artist splurged 110 million Naira on a Ferarri 458.
- Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello)
The Veteran Nollywood actor also received a car gift on his 70th birthday from his children. The car is a 2019 Toyota Highlander SUV.
- Carter Efe
The popular comedian Carter Efe took to his Instagram page to announce his new whip. The car is a Mercedes Benz which he splashed millions of Naira to purchase.
- Funny Bros
Funny Bros bought his first car this 2022, which was a 2010 Toyota Corolla. A few months after buying the car in July, he bought his second car, which is a Mercedes Benz SUV.
- Skiibii
In March, Nigerian singer, Abbey Toyyib Elias, known professionally as Skiibii, announced the arrival of his ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 SUV. The car is worth over 170 million.
- Ibrahim Chatta
Popular Nigerian Yoruba actor Ibrahim Chatta also started the year in a grand style with his brand new Chevrolet Camaro RS Sports car, which he shared on his social media page.
- Ashumsy
The popular skit maker Ashmusy bought a brand new white Range Rover Velar in October. The car is upgraded from her Toyota Matrix, the skit maker first bought.
- Sabinus
Oga Sabinus is another comedian that bought a car in 2022. The car came a month after crashing his Mercedes Benz. The popular skit maker replaced it with a brand new white Mercedes Benz GLE in October 2022.
- Papaya Ex
This year, Papaya Ex splashed over 70 million Naira on a car she bought for her mother on her birthday. The car is a 2022 Toyota Prado SUV.
- OluwaDolarz
The IG comedian was also among the comedians who celebrated after purchasing their cars this year. The comedian upgraded his car to a brand new Lexus SUV in May and took to his social media pages to share the images.
